it was one of those days...

Photobucket

granny and grandpa celebrated their 65th anniversary yesterday.
they didn't want to do anything big and never really want presents,
but sixty five years demands some sort of giftly acknowledgment...
and since we were just having the most wonderful of lazy days yesterday,
i tucked myself away in my long unused scrapbook nook
and played around until i came up with this
i never realized those silly shadow boxes tucked under my desk would come in handy so soon.
sadly, now i have to buy ten more and make another one of these for myself,
and then everyone else i know.

but back to the matter at hand,
these two people - granny and grandpa/norma and dave - they love eachother.
like REALLY love each other.
it's kind of breathtaking to be around.
how rare a blessing it is to have these two in our lives,
to have their words, deeds and examples surrounding us.
and while i could enumerate all of the many things they do that melt me,
that show the world the depth of their commitment -

i won't.
i'll simply say that the best feeling in the world is when you happen to glance over at them
at sunday dinner or a ward party or a wedding...
and they're sitting side by side, quietly watching all the hullabaloo going on around them,
and if you were to look closer, you would find their hands intertwined,
one always drawn to the other.

they take my breath away.
