charlie saw this skirt on my sewing board on pinterest...

so we whipped this baby up.
not particularly successful, the tutorial is horrible...
but charlie loves it enough that i'm going to play with it until i get it right.
we're going to go hunt down a very stiff, structured material first
(i don't like to commit to nice material until i've tested a pattern out)
so that the bow will have a bit more oomph.
though, look closely at the picture -
i think that little girl is holding up her bow for a reason.
sigh.
gramma messed around with it yesterday and a 3x kimono wrap
with a tie in the front looks amazing -
but charlie was having nothing to do with that -
so back to the drawing board...
i'm going to figure out this skirt if it's the last thing i do!

I love it! Put some stiff interfacing in the tie, that should hold the bow up pretty well.
i was thinking the same thing...will post the part II soon!
Oh please let me know when you have it figured out! My girls would love to have skirts like that!
So cute! Love everything about it! Sets higher up on the waist, stiff, structured shape, awesomeness.
